A haven of tranquility in the middle of the vineyards

10 minutes from the medieval town of Cahors, located on a plateau surrounded by vineyards, with the Causses and the hills as far as the eye can see on 360 degrees, here is Maison Malbec, the result of a major restoration of two dry stone buildings from the XVII and XIX centuries. In absolute calm, in an exceptional area of 1.5 hectares in the heart of nature, Maison Malbec is the ideal place to stay to recharge your batteries in all seasons, enjoy family vacations and discover the many assets of the Quercy region, its villages perched with its famous caves, through its gastronomy and its walks on the Lot.

A place to rest 

Refined and cozy decoration, thanks to the famous English antique dealer and decorator Louise Philips, 17th century English furniture, contemporary objects and works.Two kitchens, a dining room, a terrace with barbecue… La Maison Malbec will allow you to enjoy the best of our local gastronomy. A chef can also come and cook for you on request.

A living room with an inviting fireplace and a huge library has been designed for those who appreciate the peace of reading or for winter evenings "by the fireside".

The rooms are spacious, all equipped with a bathroom and WC. They are all equipped with air conditioning and underfloor heating.
4 bedrooms in the main house: 1 master bedroom (a bed 180 x 200), 2 bedrooms (bed 160 x 200) and 1 bedroom (bed 140 x 200)
2 bedrooms in the pool house : 1 masterbedroom (bed 180 x 200) and 1 bedroom with two beds  (90 x 200).

Cahors,a city of art and history 

Built in the time of Rome, the city, located in the Lot valley, became in the Middle Ages a predominant commercial and financial center in Europe. Witness its medieval streets, its cobbled squares and its 26 Secret Gardens! The Saint-Etienne cathedral and its cloister, a true masterpiece of flamboyant Gothic art, are not to be missed, as is the Henri Martin Museum. The Pont Valentré, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the Santiago de Compostela routes, is a medieval masterpiece. Finally, Cahors also owes its reputation to its gastronomy and wines, to its formidable market, and to its hall.

The Lot 

For the gourmets 

Between gourmet restaurants, starred or not, bistros and inns, good food and good wine are particularly in the spotlight here. Our  favorite restaurant are Le Gindreau in Saint-Médard, the Auberge du Vieux Douelle, the Chef Stéphane Chambon from Pont de l'Ouysse (Lacave) and the Domaine de Saint-Géry. The Lot has 4 remarkable taste sites: Cajarc (saffron); Lalbenque (truffles); Martel (walnuts) and finally Rocamadour for its cheeses of the same name. As for the wines from the Malbec and Viognier terroirs, it is those of Château Lagrézette which are the most popular, both by critics and amateurs!

Visits to the most beautiful hilltop villages in France (Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, Rocamadour), the Padirac pit, the caves of Pech Merle; houseboat rides; paragliding jumps; Golf (9 holes); Horse club; Karting; Canoe Kayak ; hikes on the paths of Saint-Jacques de Compostelle); Accrobranches (Pradines), but also an ornithological park; Monkey Forest; Reptiland; Gramat Animal Park; Alpacas du Quercy breeding and visit to educational farms which will delight children.
